As Autumn rolls around in the Adirondacks, it is time for this year’s annual Glens Falls Area Baseball Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction which will be held on November 13, 2009 at 5 PM at the Queensbury Hotel. The Hall of Fame exhibit will be moved from the Glens Falls City Hall to the lobby of the Queensbury Hotel, the first week of November to be on display for the dinner. This year’s honorees will include the American Legion baseball program and area American Legion coaches Dave Palmer, Hal Williams, and John Spizzo. Dave Palmer, a native of Glens Falls, is expected to attend. Dave Palmer was born on Saturday, October 19, 1957. Palmer was 20 years old when he broke into the big leagues on September 9, 1978, with the Montreal Expos. During his 10 year career, Palmer played in 212 games with an ERA of 3.78 and a 64-59 record. Tickets for the event will be $35 which includes dinner chose of salmon fillet, pork loin, chicken cordon blue, or a vegetarian dish. Children’s dinner tickets are $10 for chicken fingers and fries. Tickets are on sale in the lobby of the Queensbury Hotel, every Thursday from 6 – 8 PM and every Saturday at 10 AM- 2 PM leading up to the event. Tickets may also be purchased or other questions answered by calling Phil Tucker at 932-9676. Tickets must be purchased in advanced. There will be silent auction during the evening which will benefit the Hall of Fame. Thank you for your support of the Hall of Fame and baseball in the Glens Falls area. See you at the Dinner.
