Cortland – The Cortland Crush will be hosting its second annual “Hot Stove” banquet here on Saturday, January 10th at the Ramada Inn. The event starts at 5:30 pm and concludes at 8:30 pm.

The banquet’s keynote speaker will be former Major League pitcher Steve Grilli, who pitched parts of four seasons in the late 1970s, including three with the Detroit Tigers. Grilli’s son, Jason, is currently a major league pitcher most recently on the staff of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

The banquet will also feature a review of the Crush’s inaugural season in Cortland, a preview of the 2015 season, a look at improvements underway and planned for the club’s home field at Beaudry Park, special recognition for a long-serving community youth volunteer, and a silent auction including an authentic locker from the old Yankee Stadium.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Crush as well as the Crown City Little League.

All individuals who attend are encouraged to dress casually and refreshments will be served along with a buffet dinner, followed by dessert.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Corporate tables are available, and individual seats are also available. Mail checks by January 3 to the Cortland Crush Baseball Club, 2745 Summer Ridge Road, Lafayette, NY 13084, or call 315/247-4542 to reserve by credit card. Tickets will not be available at the door.
